Komodo Island
Komodo Island, East Nusa Tenggara 🏖️
This island is the original habitat for Komodo dragons, a type of giant meat-eating lizard. On Komodo Island, there are more than 2,000 Komodo dragons that live in the wild. You can see Komodo dragons preying on their prey in many locations in this place. It is very important to tour with a guide for safety reasons while here.
In 1986, UNESCO designated Komodo Island and other islands in the Komodo National Park as world heritage sites due to the existence of dragons that can only be found in this area. The habitat of this endangered animal is open nature with grasslands, white sandy beaches and tropical rain forests.
The first thing you can enjoy on Komodo Island is Trekking. Besides seeing the Komodo dragon, you are also invited to see other animals, and you will also be invited to climb Mount Ara which has an altitude of 538 meters above sea level. You will also pass the Water Hole which is a place for Komodo dragons to drink and rest. You can see the Komodo dragons drinking or taking shelter under the surrounding trees.
And people can also enjoy Diving and Snorkeling Komodo Island does not only offer the natural beauty of the mainland. The underwater world on this island is equally beautiful. There are about 386 types of coral reefs, 70 types of sponges, seaweed as a home for thousands of species of fish, green turtles, whales, sharks, dolphins and others.
Komodo Island is one of the most beautiful natural beauties. Therefore, as humans we should be able to maintain and care for the natural beauty so that it can be enjoyed by the next generation.
